The Funny Thing About Putting

If you ask a lot of golfers what is the hardest part of golfing they would say (well, other than the mental part) that it is putting. It is the most precise part of your golf game. Anyone can whack the ball down the fairway, but it takes a skillful eye to putt accurately.

There's a lot of pressure on putting also. With an initial drive, many golfers tend to think of it as a starting point, and there may be many ways to make it up if it is not that great of a drive, but not so in putting. When you finally hit the green, your options are less and less, you may feel like you are actually "out of strokes" and hence the pressure.

Whether the green is sloped one way or another, how long the putt is, how do you grip the putter, etc. are all things that need to be weighed into how you putt. Fortunately, putting is also the easiest thing to work on. You can practice on a putting green, in the yard or the home and in the office. Come on, who doesn't want to try putting in the office? Especially if you don't get caught or better yet, are the boss!

That's why there are so many putting aids on the market. Putting aids can offer you confidence, help you find out what you did wrong (and a way to correct it) and can be used over and over again in a small confined space. You can't exactly do that when practicing on your driving. So you may want to take your time in looking for the best golf training aid, see if you can find the top 5 best ones and do your research, make sure they have a guarantee before you order so you will know you can get your money back. Try contacting them and see how available and responsive they are.

Well, since we have been "putting around," here are some interesting golf facts: What is the longest putt ever? It was a 375 foot putt (you read that correctly) by Fergus Muir from St. Andrews in 2001!!

Who says that golf isn't a sport or exercise? Did you know if you walk with your bag on an 18 hole course, you can burn almost 500 calories!! You will burn almost 300 in you take a cart. And of course there are the heart and cardiovascular benefits just from walking!
